| Welcome to ISEC |
|
Within this site you will find everything you need from an up-to-date synopsis on elevator activities and research to links to leading organizations around the world. Having all of this information in one easily accessible place will mean that you can stay informed on what is happening throughout the community world-wide. Visitors to the site are also able to see how they can participate, not just in the Space Elevator community, but with ISEC itself. You can join the team and have access to our monthly newsletters, the ISEC Journal as well as many other great features. Or you can shop through our store to buy not only items from ISEC but other Space Elevator related books as well. We hope you enjoy your visit and come back soon to keep yourself actively engaged in the community. Prize Sponsorship2011 marks the second year that ISEC is holding the annual Yuri Artsutanov and Jerome Pearson Prizes for research into the field of Space Elevators. This year ISEC also wants to announce official sponsorship of the two prizes. The Artsutanov Prize, which is open to all entrants and awards $2,500 to the winner, is being sponsored by the Space Elevator Blog. This blog, which has long been an excellent resource for anyone wanting to keep up to date on the Space Elevator community, is taking a huge step for the assistance of ISEC. You can visit the blog at http://www.spaceelevatorblog.com.
Thank you Leeward Space Foundation and thank you Space Elevator Blog! |

Welcome to the new and improved ISEC website. We hope that with this new look we will be able to continue the success of 2010 and make a place on the web that is THE authority on the Space Elevator.
The Leeward Space Foundation is the sponsor of the Pearson Prize (and was in 2010 also). This prize is open to all undergraduate student level entrants and provides an award of $1,500. Leeward has long been a strong partner in the Space Elevator community and has donated valuable resources in the past for the creation of conferences and other activities. This is just one more step that they are taking to help the idea move forward.
