Our Partners

Our partner organizations share in our belief that Space is mankind's ultimate destination, and that educating the public about the importance of conquering space is of paramount importance.

The Space Elevator Blog

It’s not a new saying, but it’s true nonetheless; humanity must find new frontiers to conquer or it will stagnate. In addition, having to develop the science, the skills and the technologies necessary to make commercial use of space will result in enormous benefits for mankind.

The Space Elevator is a revolutionary technology which will result in tremendous benefit to humanity and the Space Elevator Blog was created to inform the public about everything that is happening inside the Space Elevator community.

The Space Elevator Blog is proud to be associated with ISEC. The collaboration and cooperation between the individuals and organizations involved in this effort will result in an acceleration of the effort to build a Space Elevator.

The Space Elevator Reference

The Space Elevator Reference servers as a reference tool for those interested in exchanging ideas on the scientific, engineering, economic and policy challenges inherent in constructing the solar system's first space elevator. The online resources available through the Space Elevator Reference include a collaborative space elevator Open Wiki, collaborative space elevator Developer Wiki, calendar of events, news from around the web, space elevator blogs, list of organizations and companies working on the space elevator, social networks, chat, image galleries and video galleries. The Space Elevator Reference is brought to you by SpaceRef.

The Spaceward Foundation

... A spacefaring civilization is not a futuristic luxury or a quixotic quest - it is a matter of near-term survival. Earth is no longer large enough for our civilization, and the resultant conflicts will ruin us.

The Spaceward Foundation is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to technology education and outreach. Its flagship project, the Space Elevator Challenge, is a technology competition with a NASA provided $4,000,000 prize purse.

Spaceward is thrilled to see ISEC form as a governing body for Space Elevator activities around the world - it is an essential step towards the construction of a Space Elevator.

The Japanese Space Elevator Association

In Japan, the idea of the Space Elevator was introduced immediately following the 1960 publication of Yuri Artsutanov's article in the Russian Pravda newspaper. The idea captured the public's imagination, and in the following years, tens of animations, cartoons and novels were released incorporating a Space Elevator.

While the idea of the Space Elevator is firmly engrained in Japanese culture, most people do not think that the SE can be built in this century. Our purpose is to change this opinion and increase the probability that the Space Elevator will be developed - in Japan and in the rest of the world.

We believe Japan's neutral international stance and early adapter culture makes it a perfect host for the Space Elevator. The Japanese Space Elevator Association was established in April, 2008.

EuroSpaceward

The fate of humanity depends very much on its ability to harness all planetary energy and develop a sustainable ecology, economy, and biosphere. Hence EuroSpaceward envisions to lastingly contribute to the technical development of mankind in order to enable its evolvement to a type I civilization which masters planetary survival by harnessing all planetary energy and having developed a sustainable ecology, economy and biosphere.

Space Elevator Wiki

One of the premises of the free software movement is that a proof of concept and presence of community are all that is necessary for success in an intellectual endeavor. Well, let's apply that model towards one of the most interesting endeavors imaginable -- the Space Elevator!

The Space Elevator Wiki is an evolving catalog of models, spreadsheets, simulations, and documentation, in open formats, that will attract people to help find and solve problems and provide the knowledge needed for the inevitable construction of the space elevator.
